Neck Lift

Facial Lifts

Candidates

  • Neck lifts are often used to correct localized deposits of fat in the anterior part of the neck, under the chin and lower face.
  • People with muscle laxity under the chin, sagging skin folds in the anterior part of the neck or lower face will benefit from a neck lift.

Intended Result

  • A more youthful neck with an attractive contour is achieved through a neck lift.

Procedure

  • Completed as an outpatient procedure while the patient is under sedation and local or general sedation, a neck lift requires an incision under the chin.
  • After an incision is made, fat is then suctioned or directly excised, muscles or tightened, and a small amount of skin may be removed. Skin removal is dependent on individual case.

Healing Process

  • The patient goes home with chin and neck dressings or an elastic sling.
  • Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication.
  • Swelling and bruising typically disappear over 2 weeks.
  • The final result is evident in 1 to 3 months.

Additional Enhancement

  • Having a facelift, liposuction, and/or chin enlargement may enhance the result of a neck lift.
