Contour ThreadLift™

A Contour ThreadLift is a technique which uses sutures to lift or reposition sagging cheeks.   Contour threads are sutures with tiny barbs which hold onto tissues and allow Dr. Normington to lift or tighten.  The ThreadLift does not replace a convention facelift.  It is appropriate for patients who desire some tightening, but do not have laxity which requires a conventional facelift.  The ThreadLift is a minimally invasive technique which uses only small scars and avoids the incisions and trauma of traditional facelifts.

Dr. Normington makes a tiny incision in the hairline and the Contour Threads are inserted under the skin.  The tiny barbs open in an umbrella like fashion to form a support structure that gently lifts sagging tissues of the face, brow, and neck.  The procedure is quick and usually performed under local anesthesia, and if desired light sedation.  The actual time of the procedure will depend upon the number of threads that Dr. Normington will place.  Depending upon the extent of the procedure, patients can return to work or normal activities within a few days to one week.  In most cases there is minimal discomfort, bruising and swelling.  Makeup may be worn the next day.  This procedure is an ideal complement to other facial rejuvenation techniques or procedures.
